Jessica Simpson Promotes Healthy Beer

Jessica Simpson found one brand new activity besides singing: promoting healthy beer! If you thought that healthy is an adjective that doesn’t work for beer, think again! The country star says she liked Stampede Light Plus beer from Dallas-based Stampede Brewing Company so much because it “consistent with her healthy lifestyle and values,” her publicist said. More exactly, Stampede is full of vitamin B.

Jessica first tried Stampede in Dallas and liked it so much that she wanted to meet the owner and she currently owns a 15 percent share in the brewer, her rep told the Daily News on Wednesday. Simpson will also appear in ads for Stampede Light Plus.

As the beer’s name suggests, the drink aims at helping girls maintain their bodies, while being able to enjoy a beer instead the usual tonic water with lemon.

“Yes, I work out and take care of myself, but I also like a cold beer once in a while,” Simpson said, trying to address any possible negative rumors.

Lawrence Schwartz, Stampede's president and chief executive, told E! Online he was proud that Jessica Simpson was the face of the brand now, as she was “America’s sweetheart and an internationally known entertainer who takes care of herself.” He said Jessica’s health can be seen both in her smile or skin, as well as in her confident attitude and “her obvious physical fitness.”

So far, Simpson has promoted zit creams and her hairdresser’s hair extensions and thinks of herself as a good entrepreneur.

“As an entrepreneur, I am always looking for ways to diversify my portfolio with good ideas and good people,” the native Texan said in a statement.
