Bon Jovi Rocks Prudential Center Arena

Legendary rock band Bon Jovi announced plans for a world tour supporting new album “Lost Highway” during a show in their home state of New Jersey on Thursday night.

What place could be more suitable for making this announcement to the world than the new $380m Prudential Center, also nicknamed “The Rock,” in Newark? This is the first arena to open in the New York area in more than 25 years, the New York Daily News Reports.

Bon Jovi’s 10-night engagement at the Prudential Center continues Friday, Sunday, Tuesday and Nov. 1, 3, 4, 7, 9 and 10. Tickets are still available, ranging from $49.50 to $303.

It was a historic moment for the state of New Jersey, as frontman Jon Bon Jovi, himself a New Jersey native, said in the opening their concert: “This is a historic night in the state of New Jersey. I want to hear you!”

Both Bon Jovi and opening act My Chemical Romance were in great shape and made it all sound natural.

Kurt Johnston, a multi-instrumentalist who is joining the band on this tour, was the first to come on the stage playing and singing a version of the Leon Payne-written, Hank Williams-recorded song, “Lost Highway.” Then the other members of the band came on the stage, one by one, playing along with him.

After everybody made their appearance, they launched their concert with the monster hit “You Give Love a Bad Name,” followed by fan favorites “Born To Be My Baby,” “It’s My Life,” “Blaze of Glory,” “Have a Nice Day,” “Shout,” “Who Says Toy Can’t Go Home,” “Raise Your Hand,” “Bad Medicine.”

“It looks good with all you people here,” said Jon Bon Jovi. “It looks really good.”

The show ended with “Livin’ On a Prayer” and “Wanted Dead or Alive” at about 11:20 p.m. Jon Bon Jovi, along with bandmates Richie Sambora, David Bryan and Tico Torres announced their multi-continent concerts with stops in more than 10 countries including Canada, the U. S., Japan, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Holland and Austria.

Bon Jovi have sold more than 120 million albums and performed more than 2,500 concerts in more than 50 countries for over 32 million fans.

Their latest album “Lost Highway” was released on June, 19, and includes the songs “Lost Highway” and “You Want To Make a Memory.”
