Actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel are attached to star in David O. Russell’s forthcoming film, “Nailed.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, young actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel are about to embark on a new cinematic project, “a risqué political satire.”

David O. Russell is attached to direct from a screenplay co-written with Kristin Gore, daughter of Al Gore and published novelist, the Hollywood Reporter adds.

Biel would play Sammy Joyce, a timid and awkward small-town receptionist who goes through the implausible experience of having a nail accidentally shot into her head, triggering wild sexual urges.

Joyce is uninsured and decides to go to Washington and fight for the insurance rights of those suffering from bizarre injuries. It is here that she meets an unscrupulous congressman, portrayed by Gyllenhaal, who takes advantage of her, both sexually and to advance his career.

Principal photography is set to start in January, according to the HR. The source specifies that neither actor has signed yet for the project.

Gyllenhaal recently appeared on the big screen in “Rendition,” a political drama in which he co-stars alongside Meryl Streep and Reese Witherspoon. The 26-year-old actor was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2005, for his work in “Brokeback Mountain.”

Biel’s screen credits include “The Illusionist” (2006), “Home of the Brave” (2006) and “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” (2007). She has reportedly signed to play Wonder Woman in the forthcoming Warner Bros. superhero film, “Justice League of America.”

David O. Russell previously directed and wrote “Three Kings” (1999) which starred George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Ice Cube and Spike Jonze. He also directed 2004’s “I Heart Huckabees” starring Dustin Hoffman, Isabelle Huppert, Jude Law and Naomi Watts.
