Nintendo Launches “Check Mii Out” Channel for Wii Users

From November 11, Nintendo intends to allow users around the world to submit and share their Mii creations through its latest Wii channel, “Check Mii Out”.

For that, users will access the “Posting Plaza” in order to view, submit and exchange their Miis. They will be able to use this additional service connecting to Internet and downloading the new channel from the WiiWare section of the Wii Shop Channel.

There is also the option to browse Miis by viewing a random selection of 1,000 Miis, current favorites or other special choosing in order to download on the user’s machine. The search will be possible by the name of its creator or by a number specific to each Mii.

Nintendo will introduce a contest, which will permit users to submit Mii creations to represent a specific person, a character, or theme and then users vote for a winner. There might be historical figures, musicians, actors, fictional characters or descriptive themes.

A contest will last two weeks, one week for creating and submitting Miis and the second for voting the best Mii that fits the challenge. With this tool, Nintendo is trying to create fun, interactive communities of Wii owners without an extra charging for this service.
