Spielberg Will Receive Cecil B. DeMille Award

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has already revealed that it will honor moviemaker Steven Spielberg at the next year edition of Golden Globe Awards.

Spielberg, 60, will be handed the organization’s Cecil B. DeMille Award, which recognizes his outstanding contribution to the entertainment field. The Cecil B. DeMille Award has been given out annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at the Golden Gloobes since 1952 and it holds the name of the most successful filmmaker in all times.

This will be Spielberg’s seven Golden Globe award for his outstanding activity. The E.T. and Schindler’s List were his two best movies that gained him the other six Golden Globes for his work.

Spielberg is also a three-time Academy Award winner His career includes movies like "Schindler's List," "Saving Private Ryan," "Jurassic Park," "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial," "Jaws," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

Cecil B. DeMille award also honored Warren Beatty, Anthony Hopkins, Robin Williams, Michael Douglas, Gene Hackman, Harrison Ford, Al Pacino and Barbra Streisand in the previous years.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association already announced that Rumer Willis was named Miss Globe 2008 on Wednesday. She is the 19-year-old girl of two-time nominee Demi Moore and four-time nominee Bruce Willis. She follows in the footsteps of other illustrious names as 2007's presenter Lorraine Nicholson (Jack's pride), 2004's Lily Costner (Kevin's kid) and 1995's John Clark Gable (son of Clark) that were designated to hand the prize.

The festivity will take place in Beverly Hills California on January 13 and it will broadcast live on NBC (8-11 p.m. ET).
