House of the Dead Coming on Wii

Monday was a special day for Nintendo Wii’s millions of fans. First of all, after about three weeks since it had been released in Japan, the Wii Zapper was eventually launched also in the United States and, secondly, Sega Corporation announced that the second and third installments of its popular video game franchise House of the Dead would be bundled in one package and would be released for Nintendo Wii in spring. So, when House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return is released, the gamers will be already experts in handling the new Zapper and thus they will become tough zombie-shooters in no time.

The famous Japanese video game developer’s announcement confirmed the rumors that have been afloat on the Internet since last week. Sega said that along with the old single-player and co-operative modes, both the Arcade and Time Attack modes would also be available for the new game. "The House of the Dead franchise has been revamped for today's gamer looking for fast-paced shooting action on the Wii,” Gary Knight, Sega’s Director of European Marketing, said.

Gary Knight also added that “Utilizing the new Wii Zapper, the player can get the renowned light gun experience in their own home.” Although it was released in the United States just yesterday, the Wii Zapper already represents a major attraction for the gamers. The gun shell peripheral for the Wii Remote is expected to provide a better feel in games such as House of the Dead, where pinpoint accuracy is very important. The Wii Zapper is shipped with Link’s Crossbow Training, a shooting game based on Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which was a real hit last year.

So, with House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return confirmed for Wii, the gamers have now a good reason to buy a Wii Zapper and start training, especially that a game from the Zelda series is the first stage of this training.
