Lakers Beat Pacers 134-114, Bryant Leads the Way

With Kobe Bryant leading the way, the Los Angeles Lakers downed the Indiana Pacers 134-114 on Tuesday night to get their fourth straight win and their season-high point total. The 134 points is the most by any NBA team this season.

Bryant led in scoring with 32 points, Andrew Bynum had 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots and Jordan Farmar chipped in with a career-high 18 points.

With yet another spectacular display of skills and, most of all, potential, Bynum made it clear why the Lakers reportedly did not wanted to send him away in a multi-player trade for O'Neal last summer. After all, he is just 20 years old and still has to learn how to play in the NBA.

O'Neal, who is still in the recovering process from a knee surgery, said during the off-season he would gladly join the Los Angeles Lakers. He recorded 14 points, three rebounds and no blocks against them on Tuesday night.

Although the game was already decided, Jermaine O'Neal went up for a short jump shot early in the fourth quarter, but Bynum leaped to block it. O'Neal tried again, but Bynum denied him once more.

After the game Bynum saw nothing special about outplaying O'Neal, but let’s not forget that Pacers’ center it’s not at his best due the knee surgery.

"I just played really hard. I wasn't thinking about that. I was just trying to get a win since we hadn't won here in four years," said Bynum who also added that he received some tips on how to defend O’Neal.

Eight Lakers managed to score 10 or more points and this is the first time that has happened for them since Nov. 26, 2003, against the Washington Wizards. Sasha Vujacic added 12; Derek Fisher, Vladimir Radmanovic and Luke Walton had 11 apiece and Lamar Odom had 10.

For the Pacers, who lost seven of its last eight games, Shawne Williams led in scoring with 24 points and Danny Granger followed with 17 points and six rebounds.
