King James Defeats Celtics Big Trio, 104-109

King James and his Cavaliers managed to defeat the Celtics’ “Big Three” 104-109 on Tuesday night to deliver them the second loss of the season. LeBron scored 11 of his 38 points in over time, including a crucial three-pointer, as he pushed the Cavaliers to their fourth win in a row.

After his latest displays of excellence, LeBron James leads the NBA in scoring with an average of 31.3 points per game. Over the last six games, the 22-year-old has averaged 37.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 9.5 assists, which is more than impressive.

"LeBron was fantastic; he made big shots, that's who he is. He hurt us as much with the pass as with his scoring. When he's not only scoring but getting everyone else involved, then he's a killer. And he was tonight," Celtics’ coach, Doc Rivers said.

The King’s assistance was also involved and Drew Gooden scored his season-high 24 points and hauled 13 rebounds to go along. Sasha Pavlovic scored 16 points, while Zydrunas Ilgauskas chipped in with 15 and 14 rebounds. The Cavaliers, who are now 9-6, have dropped the Celtics to 11-2.

Ray Allen was the one that led the Celtics in scoring this time as he collected 29 points. Kevin Garnett scored 19 and Paul Pierce finished with 16.

"We had our chance to win it in regulation," Pierce said. "But we let it slip away and they got us in overtime."

The game was tied at 92 when Ray Allen had the chance to put the Celtics two points up, but the 92 per cent free throw shooter missed both shots. After calling a time out, James went for the game-wining play, but his shot from the top of the key bounced off the front of the rim, sending the game into overtime.

Despite three-pointers coming from Allen and Posey, jumpers and free throws from Garnett and Pierce, the five minutes extra stretch was “The King’s”.

"LeBron makes some big shots in overtime and we didn't make ours," Doc Rivers said. "The overtime was what it was."
