LeBron Makes History Against the Bucks

The Monday game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Milwaukee Bucks, ended 104-99, brought a new record for LeBron James. After scoring 31 points in the match against the Bucks, “King James” or “The Chosen One”, how he is called, reached a total of 9,028 in his career, and became the youngest player in NBA history to score 9,000 points.

LeBron, who was selected at age 18 in the NBA Draft by the Cavaliers, had already signed an astonishing $90 million contract with Nike even before his debut in the NBA. In his first season he received the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. Ever since then, he has continued to set new records among the youngest players in the NBA.

The newly set record came in the first quarter for LeBron (22 years and 352 days old), who took the record from Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant, who was 24 years and 127 days old when he reached his 9,000 points.

In other games, Heat beat Timberwolves 91-87, in a game where Dwayne Wade scored 30 points, and Udonis Haslem contributed with 18 more to Miami’s victory. Shaquille O’Neal added 15 more points for the Miami Team, only the third victory in 11 home games.

The Phoenix Suns took over the San Antonio Spurs 100-95, with a Tim Duncan who scored an impressive 36 points and had 17 rebounds for the Suns.

Stephen Jackson scored 28 points and had 12 rebounds in Warriors victory against the Grizzlies 125-117, and the Golden State team finally ends its three-game losing strike.

With Dirk Nowitzki’s 31 points, the Dallas Mavericks beat the Orlando magic 111-108 in a home game.

The Atlanta Hawks managed to win against the Utah Jazz for the first time in five years, 116-111. Utah adds yet another loss this season, and reaches a 5-10 overall.
