Police Called to Solve Spears’ Custody Dispute

Britney Spears’ custody battle with Kevin Federline registered another episode on Thursday when the police were called to her home to solve a dispute involving her children and ex-husband.

Police were called to the pop singer’s residence at around 8 p.m., local time and were still there three hours later. According to Officer Jason Lee quoted by Reuters, the call involved a “family custodial dispute that we are trying to resolve…peacefully by court order.”

US Magazine.com reported that Federline’s bodyguards had gone to Britney’s home to take the boys at 7 p.m., when her custody was due to end, but she refused to hand them over.

The two were married in October 2004 and divorced in July, last year. Federline has temporary custody of their children, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, because Britney defied court orders. She still has visitation rights, but these seem not to provide enough time for her to spend with her children.

Lee also said Spears was found under the influence of an “unknown substance,” so she was put into an ambulance.

This comes just after a day her lawyers requested permission from the Los Angeles Superior Court to withdraw as Britney’s legal representative blaming “a breakdown in communications between the Petitioner and Trope and Trope making further representation of her interests impossible,” the motion said.

The decision was taken after the singer missed the deposition scheduled for Wednesday, TMZ.com reported.

Britney has to present herself in front of the Superior Court on February 19, which should give her plenty of time to find new lawyers, if she plans on showing up in court of course.
