Actress Lindsay Lohan will be spending two days working in a morgue as part of the ten days of community service she was sentenced to last year after copping a plea over her two drunk-driving arrests last summer.
Tthe "Georgia Rule" will be working two, four-hour shifts at a morgue, in order to experience on her own the potential consequences of drunk-driving, and two days at a hospital emergency room, a judge ruled during a hearing on Thursday.
The hearing, which Lohan did not attend, focused on her progress since she completed a two-month stay in a Utah rehabilitation center. According to her lawyer Blair Berk, the 21-year-old actress has already done some of her community service and spent 84 minutes behind bars, instead of 24 hours due to jail overcrowding.
Lohan was arrested for DUI twice last summer, first time in late May, when she crashed her car into a tree and again in July when she reportedly chased car. Traces of cocaine were found in her possession. In August, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drunken driving and possession of cocaine charges.
Besides jail and community service, Lohan was also placed under 36 months of probation and ordered to attend an 18-month alcohol education program.
Another hearing on the starlet’s progress is scheduled for July 15.
