Make Room For Spielberg’s Bloom Blox

If you still do not own a Wii, now maybe it is time to get one! BOOM BLOX, a game developed by EA's Casual Entertainment Label in collaboration with the famous director Steve Spielberg, was just announced.

BLOOM BLOX is scheduled for release in May 2008 and it has been described as the prefect game for the whole family.

"I am a gamer myself, and I really wanted to create a video game that I could play with my kids," said Steven Spielberg. "BOOM BLOX features an enormous amount of fun challenges and cool scenarios for your kids to solve or for you to master together."

BLOOM BlOX is a family-friendly puzzler about building and knocking down blocks. The players can interact with entertaining characters such as the Blox-laying chickens or the baseball throwing monkeys, who bring personality to the Tiki, Medieval, Frontier, and Haunted themed environments. Additionally, players can remix any level of the game in Create Mode using props, blocks, or characters that have been unlocked during the game.

"My inspiration for this game came while I was playing the Wii for the first time," added Spielberg.

With more than 300 levels and 30 characters, BLOOM BLOX offers besides single player, co-op, and versus gameplay.

The game was said to have been inspired by the meeting director Steven Spielberg had with Shigery Miyamoto, the famous developer of the popular game “Mario”.

This is the first game to emerge from EA’s collaboration with Steven Spielberg. Steven Spielberg and Electronic Arts teamed up for this project back in 2005, agreeing to work together to three video games.

A second project, code-named “LMNO” it was announced as a game for Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. it has been described as a contemporary epic action-adventure game focusing on a special relationship between the player and a non-playing character. The player will assume the role of a former special agent who has a relation with a robotic girl.

Players’ interactions with the girl will decide what powers she develops and how she chooses to use them. "The challenge is, can the game have an emotional impact on players while they are actively manipulating the world?” said Spielberg last year.
