Southgate Grill Cooks World’s Biggest Burger

The owner of a Michigan sports bar says that he set the new world record for the largest hamburger.

The Mallie's Sports Grill and Bar in Southgate cooked a giant hamburger measuring 24 inches and weighing about 134 pounds and that was just the patty, The Detroit News reported.

The giant burger will be assembled on a scale so the crowd can see whether the weight reaches the 150-pound target.

Steve Mallie, the now proud owner of the place, believes the hamburger made in his bar is clearly bigger, wider and perhaps tastier than the one cooked by Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, Pa. which at 123-pound set a record last year.

"That is the way we pride ourselves: We have the world's best and now we have the world's biggest," said Mike Matkin, Mallie's press agent.

Mallie's Sports Grill and Bar already serves 6-pound and 12-pound burgers, which are usually bought by groups or families and cut into wedges.

Mallie also said he will add the giant hamburger in the menu and its price will be of $399. So if you and your friends would like to order a giant burger like that, you must know it has a 24 hours' notice.

Although the giant hamburger hasn’t bee authenticated yet, the owner of the Southgate grill hopes to get his burger into the Guinness Book of World Records.
