"Evil" and "Vicious" Piers Morgan Is Apprentice Winner

Former British tabloid editor Piers Morgan ultimately ruled over all on “The Celebrity Apprentice,” as he was chosen over country singer Trace Atkins Thursday night.

Both winner and host, i. e. former British tabloid editor Piers Morgan and real estate mogul Donald Trump, agreed on Morgan’s character. The “America's Got Talent” judge described himself as an “evil, obnoxious, disgusting Brit,” while Trump called him a “vicious guy” – and these were both praises.

Morgan succeeded in that he raised $500,000, an accomplishment Trump was very impressed with. “You’re tough, you’re smart, you’re probably brilliant, I’m not sure. You’re certainly not diplomatic,” he commented during the live two-hour finale.

“But you did an amazing job and you beat the hell out of everybody. And you won by far more than anybody.”

Trump also had nice words for Adkins, whom he told he was a “special human being. A beautiful guy.”

What Morgan won will all go to a good cause. It was this season’s theme that the “Apprentice” contestants competed against each other to raise as much money as possible for their charities.

Morgan's charity is the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which provides help for families of United States military personnel lost in the line of duty. He earned $250,000 for his charity.

The former News of the World editor had numerous British celebrities to turn to for a donation, such as music producer and “American Idol” host Simon Cowell, who donated to Morgan’s campaign by offering $100,000 for a shopping trip with Trump’s daughter Ivanka.

The Duchess of York allowed Morgan to auction an afternoon tea with her, while Virgin mogul Richard Branson gave away $10,000.

Morgan, 42, became the youngest newspaper editor in Britain when he took charge of News of the World at 28. He later worked as editor of the Daily Mirror.
