Britney Spears Is Back To Her Old Manager, Larry Rudolph

The process of reviving what's left of Britney Spears' career has taken another positive step, as she is reportedly reuniting with her longtime manager Larry Rudolph, the man credited with discovering the future pop princess when she was only 13.

According to recent reports, Rudolph is in talks to start representing the fallen pop star once again, after he got fired more than a year ago, following Britney's first stint in rehab in February 2007, shortly before her famous head-shaving incident.

"It's true," a source close to Britney told E! News. "They are working together."

Britney and Rudolph's relationship goes far back to the early beginnings of her career, when she was just a small-town former-Disney actor. The two have collaborated on and off for years until Britney decided she didn’t like being bossed around and publicly accused Rudolph of pressuring her to enter rehab early last year.

"Britney wants to get back to work," a friend of the Spears family was quoted by Usmagazine.com as saying. "People close to Britney know that Larry is the best person for her. He's the man who can get her back on the right track career-wise."

The two reportedly got together last week and had a "mostly personal meeting," the explained. "They had a normal conversation, and it was very friendly and warm. There was no animosity."

"Larry just wanted to see her. He is still extremely close to the family and really cares about her and wanted to spend some time with her," added the source.

Britney's father and co-conservator of her estate, Jamie Spears, who is very much responsible for the latest positive changes in his daughter's life, also believes Rudolph has always had Britney's best interests at heart.

At the time when Britney parted ways with Rudolph, Jamie sent an email to the New York Post supporting Rudolph despite his daughter's decision to sever their relationship.

"When Larry Rudolph talked Britney into going into rehab, he was doing what her mother, father and team of professionals with over 100 years of experience knew needed to be done," Jamie wrote. "She was out of control. Larry was the one chosen by the team

Now Jamie wants his daughter "at a normal 9-to-5 job to keep her working and out of trouble," and is currently weighting in on various sitcom options Britney got following her recent and successful appearance on CBS' "How I Met Your Mother."

Tina Fey of NBC’s "30 Rock" recently told press that she’d consider putting Britney on her show.  "We usually write a part first and think about who would be good.  If there were a part that would be appropriate, I don’t think we would hesitate to go to somebody like that. I actually worked with Britney twice at ‘Saturday Night Live’ and she was professional and nice."
