American Idol: Ramiele Malubay Is Gone

Last night, Ramiele Malubay was given the boot from Americal Idol. As I have predicted, Brooke White was also among the bottom three, and the two were joined by another female, Kristy Lee Cook. Ramiele's song of choice "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" has failed to impress and she seemed unable to "get" country music.

Simon had thought that the performance was "forgettable" and "reminiscent of something you would see and hear on a cruise ship." Judge Randy Jackson pronounced Malubay's performance both "pretty good" and "kind of alright," but it wasn't enough to lure in a sufficient number of voters to get her through another week. Paula Abdul said she was proud of Malubay, but that's what she usually says to everybody.

The sexy Miramar girl thus won a ticket home. Tuesday, the top nine contestants performed on American Idol. It was Dolly Parton night and guys, somewhat unexpected, performed much better than the girls the busty blonde's canon. Overall, it is more than clear that this season the guys are much better than the girls, on average, and we will be left with a very few girls on the show pretty soon. This week, all the contestants in the bottom three were females.

David Cook, which was recently accused by rock-soul group out of Seattle named Doxology that he sang their cover of "Eleanor Rigby" two weeks ago without giving them any credit, sang Dolly's “Little Sparrow” to wide acclaim. “You’re a rocker, but I like how you’ve been showing you’ve got this unbelievable range,” judge Randy Jackson said. “You made your own arrangement which was very cool. And once again another hot, consistent performance.”

However, he felt ill after the show and was allegedly taken to the hospital, Access Hollywood reported. He returned late last night at the hotel feeling fine, but Los Angeles Times reported that he received a prescription for medication to lower his blood pressure.

Another great performance was put out by David Archuleta who belted “Smokey Mountain Memories” to the judges' praises. He made Paula Abdul say that he has an “amazing tone in your voice. Just gorgeous.” Johns did great even though after-performance chatter was cut short because he performed last. His rendition of “It’s All Wrong, but It’s All Right” also won nothing but praises. Simon Cowell said it was the best he had ever heard Johns sing.

The losers of the night probably were Brooke White, Ramiele Malubay and Jason Castro (who almost said "shit" in his song for some awkward reason, messing up the original lyrics). The others were somewhere in the middle between these three and the top three: Cook, Archuleta and Johns.

Last week, Chikezie was eliminated from “American Idol”. Chikezie Eze decided to follow his intuition and his voice coach and chose a ballad, even though the judges had advised him otherwise. He sang it well enough to be considered safe from being kicked out, but Cowell called it "cheesy," especially due to the fact that Chikezie hold out his hand to the waving chicks in the Mosh Pit.
