Police Arrests Missouri Driver with 213 Pounds of Marijuana

Missouri patrol arrested a man on Sunday after discovering about 213 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his 2008 Ford SUV.

At about 2:30 p.m., a state trooper of the Nebraska State Patrol reportedly pulled over the man for turning improperly and failing to a sign on Interstate 80 in Lincoln near the 27th St. exit. A drug dog was brought tot the scene and the canine revealed the presence of contraband.

After searching the vehicle, to their surprise, the state troopers discovered eight black plastic bags containing 12 separate bundles of marijuana.

State Patrol identified the man as Napoleon Travis Robinson. The 31-year-old of St. Louis was put under arrest and faces charges of possession with intent to deliver. He is now held at the Lancaster County Jail.

The case is quite similar with another one that took place last year in Florida where the local state troopers found sixty pounds of freshly harvested marijuana. The 60 pounds were stuffed into two large plastic garbage bags that were probably dumped along Interstate 4 near Tampa.

The police actually issued an announcement asking the owners to contact them.

The police's press release read: "Anyone missing their bags of marijuana or knows how these bags made their way onto the interstate system is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol."

The 60 pounds of marijuana were estimated to be worth about $54,000 on the street.
