Nintendo has big plans for this year,
as it unveiled at the summit in San Francisco its plans to give baseball fans
something to talk about with Mario Super Sluggers for Wii. If there is
something you can’t go wrong with, it’s probably Mario, as the new title said
to become available later this year (the initial launch date will be June for
Japan).
“Mario is truly one-of-a-kind
character; clearly fans can’t get enough of him and his friends,” said Cammie
Dunaway, executive vice president of Sales & Marketing of Nintendo, America
in a statement. “We’re giving Wii users brilliant new ways to enjoy him while
expanding our series of active-play games.”
With the help of the wireless
Wii remote, baseball fans will be able to recreate the atmosphere of a real
baseball match in the comfort of their own home. “With Mario and his
unpredictable pals filing out the roster, imagination and active-play innovation
are sure to dominate the diamond in this lively title, scheduled for release
later this year,” the company said.
Mario Super Sluggers, which is
pretty much like Mario Superstar Baseball, will join other Wii sport-based titles
like Mario Strikers Charged and Mario Kart Wii, and will probably add up to
Nintendo Wii’s hit titles.
In its long history, Mario just seems to never
go out of fashion, and Wii fans seem to love everything about him. This time, players
will completely rely on the Wii remote to pitch, hit and give the ball the
desire trajectory and moves. Its developers hope the new title to appeal to a
broad audience, by offering an engaging new experience, together with Mario and
Co.
