Warriors Are Out – The Play-Off Drama Begins

The Phoenix Suns managed to ruin the Golden State’s plans for the play-offs. With the loss to the Suns, the Warriors, with a current record of (48 - 33) are one place below the Denver Nuggets (49 - 32) and it seems that the season is over for them.

In the third quarter, with the help of Stephen Jackson’s 16 points (23 point total), the Warriors worked their way out of a 14 points deficit and seemed to make a strong move for the win. Unfortunately for them, the Suns finished with a 26 – 9 rush, proving that they are a much focused team when the game requires it.

Amare Stoudemire had a game-high of 28 points, Shaquille O’Neal finished with 19 points and 15 rebounds and Steve Nash almost completed a new triple-double with 13 points, 14 assists and 9 rebounds.

Nash talked to USA Today about his team’s efforts after the game: “There's a lot of woulda, coulda, shoulda,'' Nash said, ``but overall with all things that have gone on this year, we've put ourselves in a good position. If we can win the last game, we could creep into the top four there. That would be nice, but either way I think our team is still getting better, and we can just keep improving throughout the playoffs.”

Stoudemire was also very pleased with the results and his flu-troubled performance: “I was fighting a severe cold out there. It was hard for me to get my energy up,'' Stoudemire told USA Today. "Fatigue definitely came in a lot faster than normal, but I was able to get it going that fourth quarter and give us that spark to help get this win.''

At the end of the game, Baron Davis was unavailable for commentaries as he felt the arena in a hurry.
