The news about a very special concert starring the one and
only Madonna was confirmed today by Warner Bros Records.
The event is set to happen on April 30, one day after the
official U.S. release of her new record “Hard Candy.” The show is endorsed by
Control Room, MSN and Verizon Wireless and will be available live on MSN Music
in the U.S. and internationally starting May 15.
The set for the show, New York’s Roseland Ballroom, has a
capacity of 3,500 people and the first-come, first-served ticket-policy will
surely give fans a challenge. Luckily, there is more than one way to catch a
seat for the show: Verizon customers will have a chance at winning their way in
and also VH1 announced a competition called “4 Lines For Madonna” where the two
winners will be chosen for the best four-line poems about the pop star. The
competition is open until April 24 and the winners will be chosen based on
creativity and originality.
Madonna’s first single of the new album, “4 Minutes,” was
produced by Timbaland and features Justin Timberlake as a guest star. The song
is already number one in many countries and the disc is expected to become a
huge success.
The pop star recently joined the Rock N Roll Hall of
Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio and has had a successful career for more
than 25 years. Her first song, “Everybody,” was released on April 24, 1982,
after signing a contract with Sire Records.
