'Dancing' Queen Priscilla Presley Dethroned

Despite her efforts, Priscilla Presley, who found herself among the bottom two in the last couple of weeks, was forced to bid "Dancing with the Stars" farewell after being on the show for five weeks.

Although Presley didn't seem too surprised by her elimination, it was her last dancing routine that failed to impress the judges, who criticized her rumba, calling it dull and technically imprecise.

"It lacked spontaneity for me," said head judge Len Goodman. "It was too careful. I was disappointed with the performance."

However, the 62-year-old, who scored a low 21 out of 30, couldn't have made a better exit addressing the judges, "I applaud you. You did a great job," as she walked out.

"This has been an incredible experience," she said. "It is life-changing. ... I learned so much about myself and all the things I can do."

Priscilla, who has been praised for her feminine grace earlier in the competition, revealed in an interview that the show had been a "huge challenge," for her.

"I’ve had such an emotional roller coaster on this journey. It’s made me vulnerable; it’s been empowering in that I was able to succeed at some feats that I thought I never could. I took risks," she explained.

And although Presley avoided all the press after the show, some of her fellow contestants didn't skip the chance to praise her presence on the dancing contest.

"I learned that, despite the fame and the fortune, she really is a genuine person," Marlee Matlin was quoted by Usmagazine.com as saying. "I respect her as a woman and as a mother ... she was always very concerned about her family, and I am going to miss her."

"She was one of those people who, when they talk, you want to cling on to every word they say," Kristi Yamaguchi added.

Karina Smirnoff said that Presley was always "very humble. She would always take my breath away ... she was a true inspiration," while Shannon Elizabeth complimented the actress on her courage to take on the challenge and her performances, especially given her age.

"She competed just as well as everyone else. And she did the splits — which I can't even do!" Elizabeth said.

The competition carries on next Monday night with the remaining seven stars including pro football player Jason Taylor, Olympic skater Kristi Yamaguchi, R&B singer Mario, and actors Shannon Elizabeth, Cristian de la Fuente, Marlee Matlin and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
