Still mourning the loss of her father, actress Cameron Diaz received some unexpected support from two of her most important ex-boyfriends, Justin Timberlake and John Mayer, who joined her at Emilio Diaz's funeral on Sunday.
Timberlake and Mayer attended Sunday afternoon's memorial service at Mahe in Seal Beach, California, to celebrate the life of 58-year-old Emilio Diaz, who passed away last Tuesday morning from pneumonia.
"Most people started arriving at 1:30 and hardly no one wore black," a source was quoted by People as saying. In fact, some guests wore Hawaiian shirts and leis as part of the service's tropical theme, "It looked more like a party," while a taco truck and local pizza joint providing the food.
Timberlake, who dated Diaz for four years until 2006, and Mayer who was romantically linked to the 35-year-old star in the last two years, arrived separately and remained until people started leaving, at around 4 p.m.
The actress, who thanked everyone for their attendance suggesting they made a donation to Surfrider.org or Reefcheck.org in Emilio's name instead of flowers, paid a last homage to her father, whose "humor and spirit will always live on in our hearts," she said.
"My mom, sister and I are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming outpouring of love and support during this difficult time for us and all of our family. My dad was loved by so many people and his humor and spirit will always live on in our hearts," Diaz said in a statement about her father's death.
