Actress Marlee Matlin Kicked Off Dancing with the Stars

Actress Marlee Beth Matlin, 42, was given the boot from the Dancing with the Stars show last night in an emotional goodbye.

“You know what? All I can say is thank you to the judges. I have the utmost respect for you and I want to thank the most magnificent Fabian for giving me the most beautiful art of dance in my life,” Marlee signed.

Although Matlin is deaf since she was 18 months old, her determination and beauty have made her a successful actress and, lately, a strong contestant on Dancing with the Stars. She got 21 out of 30 points after her mambo performance with professional partner Fabian Sanchez, because of timing issues.

Show host Tom Bergeron stepped on the stage to hug her in an emotional goodbye. Bergeron revealed that Matlin is a long time friend and congratulated for her performance on the show, saying he is very proud of the Oscar winner.

Her husband and children were also on the show and received thanks from Matlin for their extraordinary support.

“I want to thank my family and my children for their support and love and lastly I want to thank Henry Winkler for all his support [over the years],” Marlee added. “I really want to thank the fans.”

Marlee still holds the record for youngest winner in the Best Actress Oscar category, which she got for her debut performance in 1986's Children of a Lesser God.

Last week, Priscilla Presley, who found herself among the bottom two in the previous couple of weeks, was forced to bid "Dancing with the Stars" farewell after being on the show for five weeks. Presley didn't seem too surprised by her elimination. It was her last dancing routine that failed to impress the judges, who criticized her rumba, calling it dull and technically imprecise.
