Video Evidence On North Korea's Involvement In Nuclear Matters

Information about North Korea’s aid to Syria on building a nuclear reactor has surfaced and is causing a massive media scandal. U.S. intelligence officials are expected to present their evidence about the Syrian facility’s activity before it was bombed by Israeli planes last year.

Apparently, the House and Senate members will be presented with a videotape and other proof which will clearly show the facility with North Koreans inside.

According to the authorities, the construction had been going on for many years and even though there were no traces of fuel present and the reactor was not yet operational, the Israeli troops bombed the site on September 6, 2007. The main factor leading to the attack was the Syrian reactor’s resemblance to the design of a North Korean reactor at Yonbyon that had produced small amounts of plutonium in the past.

The reason why everyone gets so aggravated by plutonium-related news and especially plutonium-producing reactors is that plutonium can be used to make high-yield nuclear weapons.

Under an agreement reached last year with the United States, South Korea, Japan, Russia and China, North Korea is required to periodically present in full detail its nuclear programs, which includes the spread of nuclear technology. According to U.S. officials, the North has never produced a complete and correct declaration.

The U.S. diplomats have been trying to get North Korea to admit its collaboration with Syria but have had no results. Their failure, combined with the rumors that the power plant might not have been related to any nuclear activity, has led to today’s situation. The new documents and testimonies are expected to shine some light on the matter.
