The Lakers displayed a terrific form yesterday and won game
two against the Nuggets. The final score was 122 – 107 and the series is now 2 –
0 for Los Angeles.
Kobe Bryant finished with 49 points and 10 assists, just one
point away from his career playoff high. "I didn't realize it, I didn't
even know it. We were just getting into a rhythm, getting into a groove. It
feels like when you get hot, the ball just finds you," Kobe said according
to the Associated Press.
Pau Gasol had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Luke Walton had 18
points. Odom had only 4 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists but that didn’t stop
the Lakers from dominating start to finish.
The Nuggets point-guard Allen Iverson also had a good review
for Kobe’s game saying that probably not even 10 players could have stopped his
performance. Iverson also had a productive night, scoring 31 points and also 6
assists.
Carmelo Anthony added 23 points, J.R. Smith made his career
playoff high with 21, Martin scored 10 points and Marcus Camby finished with 17
rebounds and four blocked shots.
In the other two games, the Pistons got their act together and
tied the series at 1 – 1 against the 76ers and the Boston Celtics fought their
way to a 2 – 0 lead in the series against the Atlanta Hawks.
Richard Hamilton had 20 points, Tayshaun Prince, Rasheed
Wallace and Antonio McDyess all scored 16 for the Pistons who won against the
76ers 105 – 88.
Kevin Garnett, one of the season’s MVP contestants, had 19
points and 10 rebounds as the Celtics won 96 – 77 against the Hawks.
