Miley Cyrus
tries to forget about the “sexy photos” scandal and get back to her usual teen
queen life.
The “Hannah
Montana” star officially changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus on Thursday
morning, Access
Hollywood informed.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved the
petition that had been filed on behalf of Miley’s parents, requesting the name
change.
“My family had always called me Miley and my dad called me
Miley Ray,” Miley previously told Access Hollywood of plans to change her
name.
Miley told the magazine she was happy she would not have
many names on her driving license, which she plans to obtain soon.
“I am getting my license, so instead of having a thousand
different names on it, just having Miley Ray, which is also kind of cool
because my name and my dad’s names look alike,” she said.
Rumors suggesting Disney might want to cease the
collaboration with 15-year-old Cyrus following the Vanity Fair scandal, were shattered,
as the young star is supposed to perform in a special concert at the Walt
Disney World Resort in Orlando on Saturday, as E!News
reports.
Disney spokeswoman Brenda Kelly Grant told E!News that nothing
had changed on their production.
Things are starting to shine again for Cyrus, as several
celebrities came to her defense after the exaggerated scandal involving the
Annie Leibovitz photo shooting.
Kevin Jonas Sr., father of the Jonas Brothers, told PEOPLE he
loved the Cyrus family and he felt bad about the recent scandal.
Stars like Rosie O’Donnell or Madonna also supported the
teen star, and Tyra Banks said on the View, Wednesday: “She is a 15-year-old,
and I just wish everybody would leave her alone!”
