A New York City young woman demanded $10,000 to get back a fur coat that Lindsay Lohan had taken from her during a private club party in “The Big Apple”, New York Magazine reported.
The “incident” happened to 22-year-old Columbia student Masha Markova who attended a private birthday party last January at 1Oak club, the newspaper wrote. She thought she lost her $11,000 blond mink coat (a gift from her grandmother), but after about two weeks she saw Lohan wearing the coat in a photo published in the OK! magazine.
Lindsay Lohan said that she has a "number of similar coats" and she did not realize it wasn’t hers. However, she said that as soon as she found out that the fur coat wasn’t hers she made plans to return it to the rightful owner, TMZ.com reported.
Masha Markova said that she recalls sitting next to LiLo at the birthday party and she believes it was no accident that her fur coat was taken.
"I don't see how it could have been an accident," Markova said.
Markova’s lawyer called Lohan’s attorney, who didn’t mentioned any name or the word “coat.” They just said they would bring her “something.” The coat arrived two days later reeking of cigarettes and booze.
Markova said she demanded $10,000 for the three-week rental “rental.”
