First Daughter Jenna Bush Gets Married Today

United States’ First Daughter Jenna Bush and Virginia-native Henry Hager will reportedly get married at the Bush family’s 1,600-acre ranch in Crawford, Texas.

The president’s 26-year-old daughter will say “I do” in a ceremony held at sunset (7:30 p.m.) on the edge of a lake, where a giant cross was raised for the big event in the Bush family. The altar was made out of limestone and George Bush has reportedly paid several thousands of dollars for it.

Jenna Bush, an author, school teacher and graduate of the University of Texas, will wear a dress by Oscar de la Renta, the favorite designer of First Lady Laura Bush. Jenna’s dress is sheer organza with embroidery and matte beading.

The bride’s twin sister, Barbara, will be the maid of honor and she’ll be accompanied by 15 other bridal attendants known as the "house party" in the state of Texas.

The catering will probably be provided by Eddie Deen, a Dallas caterer who isn’t at his first collaboration with the Bush family. In the past, he provided the barbeque at the family’s inaugural events. The "wedding central" will be held in Salado, nearly 60 mile from the Crawford ranch.

Although her mother insisted she should get married at the White House, Jenna didn’t want to. She said that wasn’t really her personality.

“There's a glamour to it, I know, but Henry and I are far less glamorous than the White House," Jenna said according to Vogue magazine.

As expected, the wedding ceremony will be very secretive and a whole “regiment” of Secret Service agents will make sure the uninvited guests don’t invite themselves in.

Jenna Bush and Henry Hager met in 2004 during the presidential campaign and their relationship grew when he worked for former White House political guru Karl Rove.

Hager, an MBA candidate at the University of Virginia business school, proposed last August during a hike on Cadillac Mountain in Maine. He gave Jenna a round diamond engagement ring that belonged to his maternal great-grandmother.

Then Hager asked Jenna’s father for the girl’s hand in marriage and the U.S. President replied:

"Done deal."
