Lindsay Lohan was rushed to the Century City Hospital on Thursday night after an alarming asthma attack made her loose oxygen and kept her from breathing. She was accompanied by her good friend DJ Samantha Ronson, who took her to the emergency room.

At the time, Lohan’s representatives claimed that she was just visiting a friend at the hospital but Dina Lohan, the actress’ mother explained that the statement was given in order to avoid a series of fake stories about her visit there.  Also, she claims that at first, her daughter didn’t even want to go to the hospital fearing that the paparazzi might be present, photograph her and spin the story into an untrue head-line.

"She was afraid to go the hospital because [the paparazzi] were gonna write about it. She was sick," said Dina Lohan, as quoted by People. She also added: "If you were sick, and you're mother couldn't even take you to a hospital because paparazzi will fabricate some story, you know, it's sad. It's really sad."

Mrs. Lohan insisted on praising to the media her daughter’s friend, Samantha, who took Lindsay to the hospital and stood by her side through the whole incident. She said she considers Samantha an angel.

Lindsay Lohan was born on February, 07 1986 in Long Island, New York and has so far stared in more than 20 movies, appeared in 4 TV shows and also released two pop music albums: Speak in 2004 and A Little More Personal (Raw) in 2005. Her best known appearances are in the movies Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Mean Girls and Herbie: Fully Loaded.
