HP Releases New Voodoo Envy 133 Laptop

Hewlett-Packard announced the upcoming release of its newest laptop, the Voodoo Envy 133, which is expected to find its clientele in Apple Mac Book Air’s segment.

The new laptop, presents a design very similar to Apple’s product, offering a razor-thin appearance with only 0.7 inches thick and a total mass of 3.4 pounds. The Envy 133 has a large 13.3 inch screen and no built-in DVD drive. And while the Mac Book Air is made of anodized aluminum, HP’s laptop is made out of carbon fiber. It was also equipped with a multi touch touchpad, just like the Mac Air Book, and the interface operates on top of Windows Vista.

HP decided on adding a few extra features to its laptop, in order to ensure a real competition with Apple. The Envy offers an HDMI port, a removable battery, an express card slot and two USB ports.

Even though the laptop’s appearance and performance could attract a large customer base, the announced $2,099 price will surely discourage a large number of potential buyers from considering it an option.

The market’s competitors include companies such as Dell, Apple and Sony, each with its own gadgets, unique features, prices and marketing strategies. The trend at this point involves the use of technological products that offer a significant style boost, leaving people more open to the thought of paying a few extra dollars for a product that is not only useful but also makes a statement about their social appurtenance.

Whether the new Voodoo Envy 133 will become a global success or not, remains to be seen over the next few months, when the first sales reports will be released.
