Teenagers Apologize On YouTube For Prank

Two teenage boys were forced by a Florida court to apologize on the YouTube Web site for a prank they did in a drive-through restaurant which they filmed and bragged about by posting the video on the Internet.

The prank, known as “Fire in the Hole!” involved throwing a soft drink at Jessica Ceponis, an employee working in one of Taco Bell’s fast food restaurants from Merritt Island, east of Orlando. The two teenagers didn’t think their actions through and soon posted the incriminating video on the popular video sharing Web site YouTube where it was viewed by some of the restaurant’s customers.

The upload soon came to Ms. Ceponis’ attention who decided to take action. She managed to get in touch with the two boys through their MySpace accounts and after making sure that they were the ones responsible for the incident, explained everything to their parents.

"They were bragging about what they had done and how funny it was," Ms Ceponis said, according to a report on USA Today.

The two boys, one 16 years old and the other 15, were sentenced to pay $30 each for the cleaning fees and also 100 hours of community service, in addition to the apology video. The victim decided that the measures taken were sufficient enough and will drop the charges as soon as the orders will be fulfilled, in order to avoid the teenagers getting criminal records.

The apology video shows the two kids preparing for the prank and then deciding not to go through with it. It also shows them laying handcuffed on a police car explaining that all ideas must be carefully thought out before engaging in action.
