The wife of the famous rapper Snoop Dogg was arrested in California’s Orange County on Staurday.

According to the police reports, quoted by the Associated Press, Shante Broadus, has been pulled over 12:15 a.m. Saturday and she has been taken to jail for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol. At the time of her arrest, Shante Broadus was driving alone.

She was later released form the jail, but she is due back in court to face DUI charges next month.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., married Shante, his high school sweetheart, in 1997. They have three children: two sons and a daughter.

Four years ago, Snoop Dogg filed for divorce from Shante, but the couple reconciled and the rapper withdrew the papers.

Last year in October, Snoop Dogg pleaded guilty on a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon and was sentenced to 160 hours of community service and three years probation.

He was arrested in 2006 at Orange County’s John Wayne Airport after a collapsible baton was found in his luggage.

All has not been trouble with the law in the recent past for Snoop Dogg, as the fourth annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors celebrated him for his musical achievements during an extravagant awards show in New York on October 8, 2007.
