Klausner Technology has reached a settlement with Apple and AT&T in the lawsuit filed last year in December. At stake was the visual voicemail technology, which patent was the property of Klausner Technology.

In a statement for Reuters, Judah Klausner said Apple had agreed to license the technology, but he didn’t disclose any financial details.

The visual voicemail feature allows users of the hit mobile communications gadget to scroll through a list of voicemails and prioritize their listening order rather than having to play all of them in the order they were received.

In its lawsuit filed in December 2007 in the Eastern District of Texas in the United States District Court, Klausner Technology claimed that Apple infringed on its patent and demanded a fine of $360 million.

Klausner Technology cited in this lawsuit two U.S. Patents that are about “a telephone answering device linking displayed data with recorded audio message.”

In the same lawsuit Klausner Technology named Comcast, Cablevision and Skype, as the company claims that these firms also use the same patents. In their case Klausner Technology demanded $300 million from each company.

In its statement for Reuters, Judah Klausner said that an agreement has been reached with Skype as well and that there are ongoing discussions with Comcast and Cablevision.

Klausner Technology is a company founded by Judah Klausner who claims also to have invented the electronic organizer and the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA).
