Motorola Releases Its New ZN5 With The Help Of Kodak

Motorola announced its new "multimedia-optimized" device, the Motozine ZN5 camera cell phone. The device is the first result of Motorola’s partnership with Kodak and offers a high-quality built-in 5 megapixels photo camera.

The phone is targeting consumers searching for an easy to use cell phone, which comes as a result of the combination between Motorola’s new ModeShift Interface, which changes the context of the keypad depending on the used function of the device and Kodak’s Easyshare software, which ensures a quick access to the photos taken and also an option for a quick share with other mediums.

Besides its 5 megapixel lens, the camera offers a Xenon flash, several settings for the low-light environments, a 4x digital zoom, auto-focus, an integrated 350 Mega Bytes of memory with an option to upgrade to 4 Giga Bytes of external memory and also multiple capture modes, including the very useful but relatively unknown Panoramic stitching feature.

The Motozine ZN5 benefits from Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology GSM and WLAN connectivity, also providing a complete HTML browser called Symphony, with personal mail and instant messaging option. It also offers FM radio, EDGE, full Bluetooth, a speakerphone, a Moto music player and personal organizer applications.

The phone measures 118 millimeters by 50.5 millimeters, in its thickest point presents 16 millimeters and weights 114 grams.

The phone is set for its release on the Chinese market at the beginning of July and the announced retail price is 3488 Yuan (US $507.60). Other markets are expected to follow later this year, but the exact locations and retail prices have not yet been released.

Whether the new ZN5 will turn out to be a hit or not is too early to tell, but considering that the high-quality camera phones segment is still in its early stages, the release might turn out to be a great success for the company.
