Fraser Is Ready for the Journey

Brendan Fraser looks like the natural choice for any film that plans to use as many CGI as possible, and, given his next generation filming techniques appeal, it was no wonder that he was given the lead act in the 3D movie that will have the largest opening since the beginning of the technology, the ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth.’

The movie was entirely filmed in 3D, and, even though the project had been conceived about two years ago, the producers had to wait for more theatres to make the screening of 3D movies available in order to release it. ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’ will open Friday in more than 1000 cinemas nationwide.

Fraser, who has made a name for himself as the good natured superhero and that became known to the wider audience thanks to the Mummy series, was strongly attracted by the idea of appearing in a 3D movie. According to the Boston Herald, the actor said that his “eyeballs popped out of my head. The last time I saw anything in 3D, it was an image that came from the camera I shot something through.”

The movie, which is based on the Jules Verne novel with the same title, is about a professor who takes his nephew in a journey to the center of our planet, which he thinks that can be made if a portal that is located somewhere in Iceland is found. Fraser’s character will have to battle giant fish and dinosaurs, but the journey will make him gain something even more important that the fame of being the first person to reach the center of the Earth: the knowledge of how to become a better person.
