It was about time for the Osbournes to make a television comeback.
After all, they were the ones who contributed to the development of the
celebrity- reality television shows on MTV. That was six years ago. Now,
according to The New York Times, the unconventional family wants to host six
episodes of a variety show for Fox. The episodes would contain musical
performances, game show segments, special guests and the audience will also be
able to participate.
Jack, Sharon, Kelly and Ozzy Osbourne would rise up to the
title of the show which, so far, is “The Osbournes: Loud and Dangerous.” Aimee,
the oldest daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne will not appear in the episode,
just like she did with the initial MTV reality show “The Osbournes.”
Fox network will collaborate with FremantleMedia North
America (“American Idol”). The four major networks were very interested with
the project. Fox said the show would have the premiere in late winter or spring
2009, reported Monsters and Critics.com.
Mike Darnell, the president of
alternative programming for Fox, was very confident that the show would be successful,
saying he believed variety shows would make a comeback.
Sharon Osbourne is currently a judge in the competition “America’s Got
Talent.” Ozzy Osbourne, the lead singer of Black Sabbath, and his family began “The
Osbournes” in 2002. The show lasted until 2005.
