A 24-year-old Queens woman passed away after being beaten black and blue at
a Times Square club where Lil’ Kim threw her birthday party. In line with
police sources, the leading suspects are club employees.
The body of Ingrid Rivera, who went missing after attending the rap diva’s
B-day party, was found on a rooftop electrical room above Spotlight Live, a
karaoke bar that “is serving up fame” (according to its Web site).
Ronn Torossian, spokesman for the singer, said in an e-mailed statement that
she was never introduced to Rivera and knew nothing of the act of violence
until Wednesday night, reports Newsday.
As maintained by sources, Rivera, a ticket agent for British Airways at JFK Airport,
quarreled with a club manager after he found her stupefied with alcohol in the
men's bathroom. He then required bouncers to throw her out. Sasha Castillo, a
friend of Ingrid’s, wanted to follow her but the bouncers didn’t allow her to,
the sources claimed.
Rivera was reported missing Tuesday after her mother, Ingrid Estrada, who
was living with her, phoned the police.
"My only daughter, I have no more daughter," Estrada said while
crying her heart out Wednesday night. "I was a single mother for all my
life. I work hard for her."
According to the investigators in the case, the murderer was almost
certainly familiar with the layout of the building. The victim was pronounced
dead at the scene of the crime, the police said. She received a fatal blow to
the back of the head.
The official cause of death is to be established by the medical examiner’s
office.
