"Hell Ride" - Sadly Another Biker Movie

"Hell Ride" is the latest movie directed by Larry Bishop, starring Larry Bishop, Eric Balfour, Dennis Hopper and Michael Madsen. Bishop starred in multiple biker films three decades ago. The movie was produced by Quentin Tarantino.

Bishop himself plays Pistolero, president of the Victors biker gang. He initiates the plan to go and revenge Cherokee Kisum (Julia Jones) who had been murdered in a brutal event that took place 30 years earlier. Actually the whole film is about Pistolero and his two buddies, The Gent, played by Michael Madsen and Comanche, played by Eric Balfour who are riding through America to get their hands on the rival gang, the 666s, responsible for Cherokee Kisum’s death. Among his old enemies we can find Vinnie Jones as well.

The two gangs both seek to have advantage in front of their rival. So they travel dusty roads throughout the U.S.A where they encounter strange characters, many of them naked women who are likely not to be trustworthy.

Bishop's acting career sadly ran out of gas in the early 80s. Larry powerfully returned in the mid 90s by writing the script for the black comedy "Underworld;" he also plays an important part in this film. Bishop then wrote, directed, co-produced and co-starred in "Mad Dog Time." Bishop continued with strip club owner Larry Gomez in "Kill Bill: Vol. 2."

Dennis Hopper is giving a very good performance in this movie, but one man can’t save them all. In 1997 Hopper was awarded the distinction of appearing 87th in Empire Magazine's list of "The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time."

"Hell Ride" is above all a homage to 60s biker cinema. The movie opens Friday.
