British actor Hugh Grant and girlfriend Jemima Khan have called it quits, after
three years of romancing.
The two had not been getting along for a while now and eventually decided to formally end their relationship. Hugh’s publicist has made the announcement.
“Hugh and Jemima have decided to split amicably,” publicist Robert Garlock said, confirming the first report by People Magazine. Garlock also said the decision to split happened in the last few days but gave no details.
Hugh himself said the couple's relationship had become rocky over the last few weeks, The Telegraph reported. A spokesman for the couple said, “It is an entirely amicable split, but both regard it as a private matter and will not be making any further statements.”
46-year-old Hugh and 33-year-old Jemima have been a couple for the past 3 years. Just as marriage was creeping up in interview questions, the two decided to end the relationship.
As it is, a friend of Jemima’s commented for the Daily Mail that marriage was never going to happen for the two. Jemima is the daughter of billionaire businessman Sir James Goldsmith. She began dating Hugh after the end of her marriage to Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan.
A friend of Jemima’s said: “Both sides felt it was the natural end of the long relationship. Nobody else was involved on either side. As far as Jemima was concerned she never really felt the relationship would lead to marriage, although she was extremely fond of Hugh.”
All in all, the British actor is once again single – when will family bliss finally descend upon him?
