Elizabeth Hurley and hubby Arun Nayar arrived in Mumbai early on Monday after being married Friday in a private civil ceremony at Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe, 125 miles west of London.
They were especially discreet, as Liz reportedly wished to have privacy on such a momentous occasion. Liz and Arun married in a secret civil ceremony on Friday, a day earlier than expected, and repeated their vows in a blessing ceremony on Saturday evening in St Mary's Church in the castle grounds.
The British actress and the Indian businessman have also been secretive about their Indian marriage ceremony. There will follow five days of festivities, where English guests will mingle with Indian aristocracy at a series of events in Mumbai and Jodhpur.
The newlyweds will supposedly attend a “haldi” ceremony, where a paste of turmeric, milk and cream is applied to the bride and groom. This will be followed by a formal dinner for family and friends in Mumbai.
According to he Times of India, the party and ceremony will be hosted by family friend Parmeshwar Godrej, wife of well-known Indian industrialist Adi Godrej.
The wedding celebrations will continue in Jodhpur from Wednesday, at Umaid Bhavan Palace.
Elizabeth and Arun have been dating since 2003. The British actress, who has appeared in movies such as “Bedazzled”, “Serving Sara” and “Austin Powers”, has a 4-year-old son named Damian from a previous relationship.
