German soccer team crushed their San Marion adversaries with
a clear 6-0 win in the Euro 2008 Group D.
"It is always difficult against a team like that if one
fails to score in the first 15 minutes, but San Marino was a good sparring
partner for our next match against Slovakia," said Germany coach Joachim Loew
"The players had a two week break and that showed with
some of them. It was important that we found our rhythm in the second half. But
we could have scored eight or nine more goals.
"We need make better use of all our chances and we need
to play more direct," Loew said.
German team opened the scoring in the first half through
Kevin Kuranyi.
After the break, the Germans scored their second seven
minutes after the restart through Jansen and it
was the start of a four-goal spree in ten minutes.
Jansen, who scored his first goal for his country, said that
the score was not as important as the result. "If 13-0 or 6-0, it is
important that we managed a win and that Gomez scored two goals after his long
injury lay-off."
Germany has
16 points from the six matches and on Wednesday they will face Slovakia in Hamburg.
