Rescue workers searching for a 2-year-old girl missing after her family’s mobile home was swept away by flooding found the toddler’s body Tuesday.

The little girl had been taken by the flood along with her 5-year-old sister and their grandmother, 60. The two girls were in their mother’s arms when the powerful water tore them away.

Teresa Leann Arnett, the older sister, and grandmother Billie Murel Mollenhour were found Monday. Two-year-old Makayla Marie Mollenhour was found Tuesday, after rescue workers scoured Pecan Creek and its banks.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Rebecca Uresti said the girls’ mother was rescued after the mobile home was washed into a bridge.

The heavy floods which washed across northern Texas, some 100 kilometers north of Dallas, have killed at least six people. Hundreds of people lost their homes and damages have been estimated at $27 million dollars, as reported by the Dallas Morning News.

The National Weather Service said rain came down at a rate of 10 centimeters an hour in the early Monday morning hours. Some parts of northern Texas are soaking in nearly 1 foot of rain.

Gov. Rick Perry came to the rescue workers’ help by sending three helicopters and Texas National Guard troops and equipment. Gov. Perry called four counties disaster areas, eligible for emergency funds.
