Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen reportedly popped the question to his girlfriend of one year, Brooke Mueller, on a Costa Rica beach with a $500,000 diamond ring, and she said "yes."

The engagement news first reported by Extra, were confirmed by a Sheen family friend.

"The two bring out the best in each other. Brooke is a good influence on him," a friend was quoted as saying.

The 41-year-old actor and the 29-year-old real estate investor were introduced by actress Rebecca Gayheart at a Victoria's Secret party in 2006.

According to People magazine, Sheen’s former wife, actress Denise Richards whom he has two children with, said she just wants everyone to be happy and she doesn't care that he is engaged. She insists that she is not jealous and she went as far as telling the press she is happy.

"I am genuinely happy for the two of them," Richards told People. "In fact, I sent them flowers to congratulate them both. I've spent time with her, and my girls really like her. That's all that matters to me."
