The electronics maker Panasonic extend its line of Lumix
cameras with one new model and introduced two new compact digital cameras.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 is an ultra-zoom camera with 18x
optical zoom and 28-504mm LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens.
The camera features also 2.5 inch LCD screen with 207,000
pixels resolution, 188,000 pixels Electric Viewfinder, six auto-focusing
methods, advanced scene modes and extra optical zoom power of up to 28.7x at 3
megapixels. The pictures taken with Lumix DMC-FZ18 can be stored on the 27 MB
built-in memory.
In addition DMC-FZ18 incorporates an Intelligent Scene
Selector which can select the appropriate scene mode like Portrait, Scenery,
Macro, or Night Mode,
With a Face detection System that enables the camera to
detect up to 15 human faces, Lumix DMC-FZ18 is the ideal camera taking photos
of a large group of people.
In order to eliminate the handshake effects, Lumix DMC-FZ18
offers Panasonic's Intelligent Image Stabilization technologies.
The DMC-FX55 and DMC-FX33, both digital cameras have 8.1
megapixels and 3.6x optical zoom and they also offer Intelligent Auto Mode.
Similar to DMC-FZ 18, both FX-55 and FX-33 integrates an earlier Panasonic’s
technology called Intelligent ISO, which increases the camera's sensitivity to
try to deal with moving subjects.
The DMC-FX55 has a 3" LCD and it will sell for $349.
The model is available in three colors: silver, black and pink. The other one, DMC-FX33,
has only a 2.5" LCD and the price set by Panasonic is $299.
