Quting inside sources, British newspaper The Mail on Sunday reported that Queen requested the ban of the BBC documentary “A Year With The Queen” which is scheduled for release this autumn.

The controversy around the documentary has started earlier this month after a trailer showed by BBC to reporters wrongly implied that the monarch had abruptly halted the photoshoot with American celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

BBC later explained that the footage was filmed on her way to the sitting. "In this trailer there is a sequence that implies that the queen left a sitting prematurely. This was not the case and the actual sequence of events was misrepresented.", BBC said in a statement.

Also BBC issued an apology to the Queen and Annie Leibovitz. "The BBC would like to apologize to both the queen and Annie Leibovitz for any upset this may have caused", BBC said. 

But despite apologies, the Queen seems to insist the documentary to be dropped as her confidence in it has been damaged.

Contacted by The Mail On Sunday has quoted a senior BBC executive has issued a a brief statement:

"The BBC has commissioned Will Wyatt (a former managing director of BBC Broadcast) to conduct an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the inclusion of this project in the recent BBC1 autumn launch.”
