Famous actor Eddie Murphy has recently announced his marrying to girlfriend Tracey Edmonds, but he should first face the war that former Scary Spice singer Melanie Brown has started against him.

A statement released by Murphy’s publicist on Friday said: “Eddie Murphy always has and will continue to honour his responsibilities as a father”. "He acknowledges paternity of the child Angel and has paid child support to Ms. Brown, as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy," he added.

The statement comes after Brown accused Murphy of not paying child support and filed a paternity suit.

Helped by lawyer Gloria Allred, Mel B. seems to be ready of confronting her former lover till he will have to pay.

When Mel B. had started to loudly claim that her little baby girl is the actor’s daughter, Eddie Murphy did not admit it from the first instance. However, after the DNA test has confirmed that Mel B. is right, the actor had to admit that he is the father of Angel Iris Murphy Brown.

However, he still denies the former Spice Girls’ singer that their daughter’s birth had been in fact planned. The actor has said that they had just dated for few times, but that they never decided such an important thing like having a child.

But the child has been already welcomed to this world by her mother and now Eddie Murphy should respect his parental responsibilities too. Although he hasn’t seemed too eager to do that, Mel B. has expressed her desire of having Eddie Murphy “bonding” with his daughter.

According to her attorney Mel B wants the 46-year-old actor “see his child, spend time with her, hold her, love her and bond”. Angel Iris, who was born on April 3, is Brown’s second and Murphy’s sixth child.

"He has not indicated in his statement or to us that he plans to visit the baby," attorney Gloria Allred said Saturday.

Meanwhile Tracey Edmonds, Eddie Murphy's fiancée, said that the paternity battle has no impact on the pair's relationship. "The Melanie Brown situation had absolutely no impact on my relationship with Eddie. That relationship was long over. I knew about the potential paternity issue and I've been supportive of him.", she was quoted by AP as saying

Fortunately, the battle between her parents will be over, when Iris have grown up. Till then, however, Murphy will probably marry Tracey Edmonds and Mel B. will file other suits against the actor.
