Justin Timberlake Finds “Love Guru" in Mike Myers

Justin Timberlake continues his acting endeavors with a role in Mike Myers’ forthcoming comedy, “The Love Guru.”

26-year-old Justin Timberlake may have launched his career as the cute curly guy in successful 1990s boy bad ‘N SYNC but he has since moved to more mature projects and not all related to singing.

Variety announces that Justin has joined the cast of “The Love Guru,” a comedy starring Mike Myers, who has also co-written the script with Graham Gordy.

Justin will be working with Jessica Alba, Romany Malco and Verne Troyer. Shooting for the Paramount Pictures film begins next month in Toronto. Marco Schnabel directs, while Mike Myers and Michael De Luca are producers.

Mike Myers plays an American raised by gurus on an ashram in India. He returns to the U.S. to try his luck in the lucrative self-help business and obviously gets himself in some laugh-producing situations.

He offers marriage counseling to a hockey star, whose wife gets herself involved in a relationship with her hubby’s rival player, interpreted by Justin.

Myers and Justin have worked together before, when lending their voices to “Shrek the Third” characters Shrek and Prince Arthur, respectively.

Justin earned critical appreciation for his roles in 2006’s “Alpha Dog,” where he played alongside Emile Hirsch, Bruce Willis and Sharon Stone, and in “Black Snake Moan” (2007), where he joined Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci.

Justin also makes an appearance in the sci-fi drama “Southland Tales,” slated for a November release, which stars an ensemble cast that includes Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

“The Love Guru,” slated for a 2008 release, is exec produced by Donald J. Lee, Jr., Roger Birnbaum and Gary Barber.

Justin is currently on his “Future Sex/Love Show” tour, which will be aired by HBO on Labor Day.
