The already much-attractive cast of “He’s Just Not That Into You” has added a new name to its list: Hollywood actor Ben Affleck.
New Line Cinema’s ensemble comedy “He’s Just Not That Into You” has a new player on its team, according to Hollywood Reporter: Ben Affleck.
The film, directed by Ken Kwapis, already features Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connelly, Bradley Cooper, Kevin Connolly, Justin Long, Ginnifer Goodwin and Drew Barrymore.
Drew and her longtime partner Nancy Juvonen are producing through their Flower Films company.
Kris Kristofferson is reportedly also joining the cast, as Aniston’s father.
Affleck will play her boyfriend, a man who is unable or unwilling to commit to marriage. This leads to murky waters in their relationship. Variety reports that the movie’s “interconnecting story arcs deal with the challenges of reading or misreading human behavior.”
The film is based on the 2004 best selling-book of the same name, by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo. Shooting is due to begin on September10 in Los Angeles.
Ben Affleck, 35, shot to fame with 1997’s “Good Will Hunting,” which starred Robin Williams, childhood friend Matt Damon, Affleck himself and Minnie Driver. He and Damon, who co-wrote the movie’s script, received the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
Ben’s next projects included “Armageddon,” with Bruce Willis and Liv Tyler, “Pearl Harbor,” with Kate Beckinsale and “Daredevil.”
The 2006 biopic “Hollywoodland,” featuring Affleck as George Reeves, the actor who played Superman in the original television series, earned him a nomination for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.
“Gone, Baby, Gone” is Affleck’s directorial debut, set for release this October. The crime thriller stars brother Casey Affleck, Michelle Monaghan, Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris.
