Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey is set to replace Owen Wilson, who is still recovering from his suicide attempt, in Ben Stiller’s latest comedy "Tropic Thunder," Variety reported.
The actor, who will join actors Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Nick Nolte, Bill Hader and Steve Coogan, is expected to shoot scenes for the film over the period of a week.
Already in production in Hawaii, "Tropic Thunder" focuses on a group of actors shooting a war movie in Hawaii who are somehow forced to become real soldiers themselves.
Most recently seen in "We Are Marshall" and "Failure to Launch," McConaughey has completed work on "Fool's Gold" and "Surfer Dude" and is set to begin production on "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" opposite actress Jennifer Garner in the near future.
Owen Wilson dropped the movie after he was hospitalized for trying to take his own life. Some of his commitments including "Tropic Thunder" were canceled.
