The mobile phones maker HTC unveiled its latest devices for
the end of 2007. The new addition to HTC’s lineup includes three models: S730,
Shift and the P6500 and a new version of its Touch phone.
With a sleek and compact design HTC Shift combines the power
of Windows Vista with always-connected 3G/HSDPA connectivity. Also the phone is
the first device which includes SnapVUE technology that offers instant access
to emails, calendar, SMS messages and contacts, without the need to fully boot
up the device which helps conserve power and extend battery life. Weighing just
800g and equipped with a 7" touch sensitive 'slide-n-tilt' screen, the HTC
Shift is the new way to work effectively on the move.
The other model, HTC S730 was introduced by HTC as an
enhanced version of the HTC S710 handset that launched earlier this year. The
HTC S730 adds 3G/HSDPA and a 400MHz processor and it's is a stylish and compact
phone which features an auto-sliding QWERTY keyboard making it an ideal choice
for the mobile professional who needs easy access to email, messaging and the
internet while out of the office. The HTC S730 comes equipped with Windows
Mobile 6 and 256MB Flash memory wrapped in a sleek gun-metal grey casing.
The HTC P6500 incorporates a 3.5" screen, 3 mega pixel
camera with auto focus and barcode and fingerprint scanning capabilities and it
comes equipped with 256MB internal memory with the option to add up to 1GB in
addition to two external SD card slots.
The HTC Shift will be available across Europe
from November this year, the HTC S730 from October and the HTC P6500 from
November. All devices will be available through HTC's channel and specific
operator partners.
Also HTC unveiled an updated version of its iPhone killer,
HTC Touch Dual.
Similar to iPhone, HTC Touch Dual includes TouchFLO, a
proprietary touch screen technology developed by HTC Consumers simply sweep their finger up the
display to launch an animated, three-dimensional interface comprising three
screens: Contacts, Media and Applications. The interface can be spun by swiping
a finger right or left across the display, providing efficient access to the
features consumers use most. TouchFLO also enhances finger touch scrolling and
browsing of Web pages, documents, messages and contact lists.
Also HTC announced good sales for its Touch phone, which was
launched in July this year. According to HTC's Chief Executive Peter
Chou the company sold 800,000 of its Touch phones.
